Low irrigation results in low cropping intensity. What is the crop intensity of India?
Low irrigation results in low cropping intensity i.e. 142 per cent as farmers are not able to take a second crop for want of water. Crop Intensity is the ratio of the Total Cropped Area (or the gross cropped area) to the Net Area Sown. Cropping Intensity in India = (Gross Cropped Area ÷Net Area Sown) * 100.
