S was 8 m ^ of that of T while P was 24 m ! of that of S and R was 12 m & of that of S. U was situated just in the middle of N and O while Q was just in the middle of T and P.

Here, & means North, * means South, ! means East and ^ means West
If two symbols are simultaneously given then both directions will be taken.

For example,
A&!B means B is to the North-East of A
A&!B means B is to the North-East of A

What is the direction of P with respect to R?

S was 8 m ^ of that of T while P was 24 m ! of that of S and R was 12 m & of that of S.
S was 8m to the west of T while P was 24m to the east of S and R was 12m to the north of S.

So, Direction of P is south – east with respect to R.

Hence, option 4 is the correct answer.
