Jokha Alharthi won Man Booker International Prize

Jokha Alharthi,from Oman won the prestigious Man Booker International Prize for her Arabic novel 'Celestial Bodies'.
She became the first Arabic language writer to win this award.
It is an international literary award sponsored by the ‘Man Group’, which is the same organisation that gives Man Booker Prize for fiction.
It is open to books in any language that have been translated into English and published in the United Kingdom in the last year.
