Recently, Prime Minister has announced various development projects during his visit to Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. 

Projects announced:

• City Gas Distribution Project was inaugurated  in Dharwad.
• Doubling of 18 km long Chikjajur-Mayakonda Section which is a part of 190 km long Hubli-Chikjajur Doubling Project. 
• Foundation Stone of IIT Dharwad and IIIT Dharwad.
• Devoted 1.5 MMT Mangalore SPR (Strategic Petroleum Reserve) facilities and 2.5 MMT Padur SPR facility of Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL) to the country. This move has been initiated to ensure energy security.
