The Supreme Court on 19-02-2022 awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) to Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu in a 34-year-old fatal road rage case.

Background

SC had left off Navjot Singh with a fine of Rs 1,000 over the death of a 65-year-old man in a road rage case of 1988. The petitioner had sought a review of the Supreme Court’s 2018 order letting off Sidhu. Following this Over 33 years after the death of a man in a road rage case, the Supreme Court on Thursday awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment to cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu
