The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is organizing a crafts exhibition-cum-fair in Delhi with the aim of popularising traditional Indian crafts among the diplomatic community

Overview:

This crafts fair is being held as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebrations. At Bikaner House, this fair will be held and it has been named ‘Coalescence: Craft-Culture-Community-Climate.’

On 23^rd February this fair will be inaugurated by Meenakshi Lekhi, MOS for Culture and External Affairs in the presence of ICCR president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.

This three-day fair will provide an experience of India’s cultural history and craft techniques that contribute to the planet’s ecological balance. Dastkari Haat Samiti’s Jaya Jaitly curated this event.

Textiles, crafts, beauty aromatics, traditional and folk art, and recycled products will be presented by 22 craftspeople from 11 states.

This fair is being organized so that not only India’s dance and music be showcased as part of the country’s culture, but other traditions like crafts, cuisine, and literature should also be highlighted.

How are the products to be exhibited made?

All the exhibited products are made with organic and natural materials and produced utilizing non-polluting methods. Due to this, the global community will be able to witness how the country’s traditional culture can face the difficulties that arise due to climate change.
