As per Minister for Science & Technology and Skill Development, C.N. Ashwath Narayan, Karnataka government is to set up a Centre of Excellence for Fintech or Financial Technology in Karnataka.

Highlights

• This move was announced while addressing the inaugural session of Mangaluru Technovanza.
• Mangaluru Technovanza was organised by Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM).
• Government will allocate Rs 12 crore for setting the centre of excellence. Funds will be reserved in the state budget of 2022-23.

Software Technology Park in Karnataka

Government has also planned to set up a software technology park in city. It will be set up with the help of Karnataka State Electronics Corporation Ltd. (KEONICS). Board of KEONICS has already approved the proposal.

Start-ups in Mangaluru

State government will also promote start-ups in Mangaluru region. For this purpose, incentives will be provided under Beyond Bengaluru initiative as well as under the government policy to promote industries across tier II & tier III cities. These incentives will be provided to attract companies for setting their units beyond Bengaluru.
