India takes over UNSC presidency for August 2021 with focus on maritime security, peacekeeping, counter-terrorism

India has assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of August 2021.
As the president of the top UN Body, India will decide the agenda for the month, coordinate important meetings and other related issues.
India will focus on three priority areas during its presidency. These include maritime security, peacekeeping, and counter-terrorism.
