Sumit Antil is an Indian paralympian and javelin thrower won a gold medal in men's javelin throw F64 category at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics
He was born 6 July 1998 and is from Sonepat in Haryana. He lost his left leg below the knee after he was involved in a motorbike accident in 2015. Sumit is supported by the GoSports Foundation[5] through the Para Champions Programme.Sumit was introduced to Para athletics by another para athlete, Rajkumar, while he was pursuing his B.Com in Delhi.
Sumit Antil came into Tokyo Paralympics as the world record holder in F64 category of men's javelin throw. He was also ranked world No1. He shattered his old world record in the very first attempt throwing 66.95m. He beat that on his second attempt with a massive effort of 68.08m as he led the field from the start.
He won Silver medal at World Para Athletics Championships, Dubai, 2019 and in the process broke his own world record in the F64 category.
