Grandmaster D. Gukesh wins $15,000 Gelfand Challenge Chess Title

The world’s second youngest Grandmaster D. Gukesh has won the $15,000 Gelfand Challenge chess title on June 13, 2021.
With this win, the 15-year-old Gukesh has also secured a ‘wild card’ for the elite Meltwater Champions Chess Tour.
Chennai-based Gukesh and his compatriot Praggnanandhaa, tied with 14 points in 19 rounds, but Gukesh won the tournament on tiebreak because he had won the direct encounter against Praggnanandhaa in 17th round.
