IBF to be renamed as Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF)

The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), the apex body of broadcasters in India, is being renamed as Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF).
The decision to rename IBF has been taken as IBF is expanding its purview to cover digital platforms to bring all digital (OTT) players under one roof.
IBDF will be forming a new wholly-owned subsidiary to handle all matters pertaining to digital media.
It will also form a self-regulatory body named as Digital Media Content Regulatory Council (DMCRC) for digital OTT (over-the-top) platforms.
