RBI to conduct open market purchase of government securities of Rs. 1 lakh crore under the G-SAP 1.0 Programme

The Reserve Bank of India has announced to conduct open market purchase of government securities of Rs 1 lakh crore under the G-sec Acquisition Programme (G-SAP 1.0) in the first quarter of 2021-22.
The objective of this is to have a stable and orderly evolution of the yield curve.
Under this scheme the first purchase of government securities for an aggregate amount of Rs. 25,000 crore under G-SAP 1.0 will be conducted on April 15, 2021.
