NSO expects Indian economy to contract by 8% in 2020-21

The GDP growth of India during 2020-21 is estimated to contract 8 percent, as per the second advanced estimates projected by the National Statistical Office (NSO). This was 4.9 percent in 2019-20.
NSO had projected a GDP contraction of 7.7 percent in its first advance estimate.
As per the NSO, the Indian economy will be expanded by 0.4% in the December quarter. Thus, with this, the economy will be emerged from the recession which was induced by the covid-19 pandemic.
