• The President of India Shri  Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the newly renovated Sardar Patel Stadium at Motera in Ahmedabad, which is now the largest Cricket Stadium in the world.
• The Sardar Patel Stadium, (popularly known as the Motera stadium), has also been renamed as Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, after the Prime Minister Modi, who was former president of the Gujarat Cricket Association.
