• Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is on a two-day visit to Gujarat from 30 to 31 October, to mark the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, which is held on 31 October.
• On his second day of the visit, PM inaugurated the first of its kind Sea Plane service of the country in Gujarat.
• The Kevadia-Sabarmati water aerodromes and the seaplane service will connect the Statue of Unity in Kevadia at Narmada district in Gujarat with the Sabarmati River Front in Ahmedabad.

Seaplane Service :

• The 19-seater seaplane will be managed by private airline SpiceJet.
• The service will cover the 200 km distance between Sabarmati and Kevadia, in just 45 minutes by flight, which usually takes 4 hours.
• The flight will be able to accommodate 12 passengers and tickets will cost Rs 4,800 per person.`
• There will be four flights a day between Ahmedabad and Kevadia on each side, which means four arrivals and four departures.  
• The 2020 Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day marks the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
