NABARD launches refinance scheme for WASH programme, earmarks Rs 800 Crore for FY’21

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has announced a special refinance facility for the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme to promote sustainable and healthy lifestyle in rural areas.
Under this, NABARD has earmarked an amount of Rs 800 crore for the financial year 2020-21.
It will provide concessional refinance to all eligible financial institutions, including commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks.
The support will be channelised to fund WASH activities, which are eligible for 95 percent refinance.
