Former Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar Takes Charge as Chairperson of PESB

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the appointment of former finance secretary Rajiv Kumar as the chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
He has been appointed to the post for a period of three years.
Kumar is a 1984-batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre who retired as the finance secretary in February 2020.
He succeeds Kapil Dev Tripathi who has recently taken over as the Secretary to President Ram Nath Kovind.
PESB is a high powered body constituted by Government of India for the selection and placement of personnel in the public sector undertakings.
