OECD lowers India’s GDP growth to 5.1 % for 2020

Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in its report titled “OECD Interim Economic Assessment Coronavirus: The world economy at risk” has downgraded India’s GDP growth forecast to 5.1 % from 6.% for 2020 due to the impact of deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) on the domestic as well as the global economy.
OECD also projected the GDP growth at 5.6 % for 2021.
OECD has projected the growth at 4.9 % for the financial year ending March 2020.
The Global GDP growth is projected to drop to 2.4 % in 2020 from 2.9 % in 2019. It is expected to recover to 3.3 % in 2021.
