Government constituted a committee on Economic Statistics

Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation constituted a standing committee on Economic statistics to improve data of the government.
The committee will consists of 28 members and to be headed by Chief Statistician Pronab Sen.
The committee is set to meet on January 6, 2020. The committee is being formed over the criticism of "political interference" in statistical data.
Rao Inderjit Singh is the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Statistics and Programme Implementation.
