Koneru Humpy wins World Rapid Chess title

Indian Grandmaster Koneru Humpy became FIDE Women’s World Rapid Champion for the year 2019 by defeating China’s Lei Tingjie in Moscow, Russia.
Humpy is the second Indian to win gold in the World Rapid Champion after India’s grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand, who won this title in the open section in 2017.
Lei Tingjie of china won the silver medal and Ekaterina Atalik of Turkey won the bronze medal.
Magnus Carlsen of Norway has won the men’s World Rapid Championship 2019.
Firouza Alireza of Iran won the silver medal and Hikaru Nakamura of U.S.A won bronze medal.
