M Ajit Kumar Appointed as New Chairman of CBIC

M Ajit Kumar has been Appointed as Chairman of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
M. Ajit Kumar is a 1984 batch IRS officer and presently a member of CBIC.
He will replace Pranab Kumar Das as the chairman of CBIC.
CBIC is the nodal national agency responsible for administering Customs, GST, Central Excise, Service Tax & Narcotics in India.
