IPS Anup Kumar Singh appointed as new NSG Chief.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Anup Kumar Singh as the new Director-General of National Security Guard (NSG), also known as ‘black cats commando’ force.
NSG was raised in 1984.It is a federal contingency force to counter terrorists and hijack-like incidents with a view to protect states against internal disturbances.
