Explanation:

• The RBI keep the policy Repo Rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) unchanged at 5.15%.
• Consequently, the Reverse Repo Rate under the LAF remains unchanged at 4.90%.The Marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate at 5.40%.
• Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) remains unchanged at 4 % and Statuory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) is at 18.50%.
• RBI lowers the GDP growth forecast for FY20 to 5 %.
• The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has decided to maintain the accommodative stance of monetary policy to revive growth, while ensuring that inflation remains within the target.
• All members of the MPC – Dr. Chetan Ghate, Dr. Pami Dua, Dr. Ravindra H. Dholakia, Dr. Michael Debabrata Patra, Shri Bibhu Prasad Kanungo and Shri Shaktikanta Das – voted in favour of the decision.
• The next meeting of the MPC is scheduled during February 4-6, 2020.
