the complainant
the accused
the witness
a person who is neither a complainant nor an accused nor a witness.
- Section 91 of CrPC: It allows a court or police officer to summon documents or things necessary for investigation or trial.
- Complainant (Option 1): Section 91 can apply to them. They might be asked to produce relevant documents.
- Accused (Option 2): Generally, they cannot be forced to produce documents that may incriminate them as per Article 20(3) of the Constitution.
- Witness (Option 3): Section 91 can apply. Witnesses may be compelled to produce relevant documents.
- Non-related Person (Option 4): They can be summoned under this section if their documents are relevant.
