- Section 173(8) of CrPC: This section deals with further investigation by the police after a charge sheet has been filed. It is not used by the magistrate for ordering investigation before process issuance.
- Section 202 of CrPC: This section allows a magistrate to postpone the issue of process against the accused and order an investigation to determine whether there is sufficient ground for proceeding.
