Section 188 of Cr PC provides for extra¬territorial jurisdiction over:
Indian citizens
non-citizens
foreigners
all of the above.
- Section 188 of the CrPC deals with offences committed outside India.
- It enables Indian courts to try persons for offences outside India, if the offender is:
- An Indian citizen (Option 1)
- A person on any Indian registered ship or aircraft (this can include non-citizens)
- The section covers both citizens and certain non-citizens (option 2 and part of option 3).
- However, it does not grant jurisdiction over *all* foreigners for offences abroad, only if committed on Indian registered vessels.
- So, the correct answer is: Option 1: Indian citizens
- Option 4 (all of the above) is not correct.
