A gift cannot be revoked or suspended at the pleasure of the donor, for a transfer by a gift is complete and binding on the parties when once completed. However, in certain cases, a gift can be revoked (Sec. 126, T. P. Act). Which of the following is such a case:

According to section 126. When gift may be suspended or revoked

The donor and donee may agree that on the happening of any specified event which does not depend on the will of the donor a gift shall be suspended or revoked; but a gift which the parties agree shall be revocable wholly or in part, at the mere will of the donor, is void wholly or in part, as the case may be.

A gift may also be revoked in any of the cases (save want or failure of consideration) in which, if it were a contract, it might be rescinded.

under Section 126, a gift can be revoked on any grounds on which its contract may be rescinded. For example, section 19 of the Indian Contract Act makes a contract voidable at the option of the party whose consent has been obtained forcefully, by coercion, undue influence, misrepresentation, or fraud. Thus, if a gift is not made voluntarily, i.e., the consent of the donor is obtained by fraud, misrepresentation, undue influence, or force, the gift may be rescinded by the donor.
