China have finished atop the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2024 medal tally with 16 medals, having clinched eight gold, six silver, and a couple of bronze medals in the competition. The competition was held in Tehran, Iran.

• India finished the athletics meet with four medals - three gold and one silver. Men's shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor, women's hurdler Jyothi Yarraji and Harmilan Bains accounted for the top podium finishes while Ankita bagged the solitary silver in the women's 3000m race.
• Gulveer Singh also won the gold medal in the men's 3000m race initially but was later stripped of his medal as he was disqualified for lane infringement.
• The Indian contingent in Tehran also included Asian Games medallist Ajay Kumar Saroj and Shaili Singh, a silver medallist at the 2021 U20 World Athletics Championships in the women’s long jump.
