About Ramon Magsaysay Award
The award was established in 1957 in the memory of Philippines' 3rd President Ramon Magsaysay who had died in an air disaster in March 1957. The award carries a certificate, a medallion bearing the likeness of the late President, and a cash prize of USD 50,000.
