Let the present ages of A and B be
a years and b years, then According to question
= $\frac{a+4}{5}=\frac{b+4}{7}$
⇒ 7a – 5b = –8 …. (i)
And
= $\frac{a+6}{11}= \frac{b+6}{15}$
⇒ 15a – 11b = –24 …. (ii)
On solving equations (i) and (ii), we
get
a = 16 and b = 24
Hence, the ages of A and B will be
16 years and 24 years respectively.
