Spain has officially become the 99th member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), marking a significant step in its commitment to renewable energy and international cooperation in the fight against climate change.

The formalization of this membership occurred during a meeting in New Delhi, where Spain’s Ambassador to India, Jose Maria Ridao Dominguez, handed over the Instrument of Ratification to the Head of Depository, Joint Secretary (Economic Diplomacy and Multilateral Economic Relations), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Abhishek Singh.

The International Solar Alliance

The International Solar Alliance, jointly launched by India and France during COP21 in Paris, aims to mobilize countries around the world to promote the rapid and large-scale deployment of solar energy.

This initiative is crucial for the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, as it strives to reduce global carbon emissions by harnessing solar power.

The ISA operates as a collaborative platform, bringing together member countries to share knowledge, technology, and financial resources to enhance the adoption of solar energy.
