While addressing the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit, PM Modi announced that the country will soon be launching the ‘AYUSH Mark’ to give authenticity to the quality AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) products that are made in India. This launch will be done with the aim of promoting the traditional medicine industry of the nation.
In 1995, the Department of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM & H) was created with the aim of developing the AYUSH systems. This department in the year 2003 was renamed the Department of AYUSH. On 9th November 2014, the AYUSH Ministry was formed with the aim of reviving the knowledge of ancient medicines and ensuring the development AYUSH related healthcare. The AYUSH Ministry has also taken steps with the aim of encouraging start-up culture in the sector of traditional medicine. An incubation center was recently inaugurated that has been developed by the All India Institute of Ayurveda.
AYUSH Mark will be launched to provide authentication to the quality AYUSH products that are produced in the country. After its launch, the products will be thoroughly checked for quality using the latest technology. ISO standards are being developed by the experts of AYUSH in association with the Bureau of Indian Standards with the objective of creating an export market across 150 countries in the world.
AYUSH Visa will help all those individuals who will be looking to come to India for seeking traditional treatments. The AYUSH wellness centres will be able to attract a lot of visitors from across the world thus boosting the country’s economy.
