Direction: Each of the questions below consists of a question and three statements numbered I, II and III. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read all the three statements and give answer accordingly
How many people are there in the row if there are more than five people between B and Z?
Statement I: O is at third from the left end and D is sixteenth from the right end of the row.
Statement II: Z is sitting seventh to the right of B.
Statement III: There is twenty-two people between D and O which includes B and Z.
If the data in statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone or in statement III alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
If the data in Statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone or in statement III is not sufficient to answer the question.
If the data in Statement III alone is sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone or in statement II is not sufficient to answer the question.
If the data in all the statements I, II and III together isn’t sufficient to answer the question.
If the data in all the statements I, II and III together is sufficient to answer the question.
From the given information: From statement I: Position of O = 3rd from left Position of D = 16th from right So, the total number of people sitting in the row cannot be determined. Thus, statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question. Statement II: Z is sitting seventh to the right of B. So, the total number of people sitting in the row cannot be determined. Thus, statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question. From statement III: There is twenty-two people between D and O which includes B and Z. So, the total number of people sitting in the row cannot be determined. Thus, statement III alone is not sufficient to answer the question. From statement I, II and III: There are two people in to the left of O. There are 15 people to the right of D. R is sitting seventh to the left of Z. There are 22 people between D and O including B and Z. Combining the above statements, we get: Number of people in the row = (to left of O) + (to right of D) + (between D and O) + (for D and O) = 2 + 15 + 22 + 2 = 41 So, there are 41 people sitting in the row including D, O, B and Z. Hence, the data in all the statements I, II and III together is sufficient to answer the question.
