Sum of odd numbers = a + a + 2 + a + 4 = 3a + 6
The even numbers = b, b + 2, b + 4
Sum of even numbers =b + b + 2 + b + 4 = 3b + 6

a + 2 – (b + 2) = 7
⇒ a – b = 7
Required difference = 3a + 6 – (3b + 6) = 3a – 3b
