The Bill has been brought in this very context, and seeks to regulate the use of DNA technology. The Bill includes a Schedule – which specifies instances under which the use of DNA-based technology is applicable. The Bill has provisions for storage of DNA data in DNA Data Banks and Regional DNA Data Banks. Further, it establishes a DNA Regulatory Board to supervise the functioning of DNA Data banks and regulate the usage of DNA-based technology.
