The evaluation of initial bids and finalising of air staff quality requirements has begun for the purchase of 114 medium multi role fighter aircrafts for IAF. Informally termed as MMRCA 2.0 the RFI for this deal was issued in 2018 according to which 85% of 114 fighter jets will have to be built in India under the Make in India programme in partnership with a Indian Production agency.
