1. Qutab-ud-din Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi, commenced the construction of the Qutab Minar in 1200 AD, but could only finish the basement. His successor, Iltutmush, added three more storeys, and in 1368, Firoz Shah Tughlak constructed the fifth and the last storey.
2. Agra fort is one of the most ancient historical monuments built of sandstone on the riverbank of Yamuna in Agra (UP) by Emperor Akbar between 1565-1573.
3. Fatehpur Sikri was built between 1569 and 1585 and was built as a gesture to a saint Shaikh Salim Chishti who lived in a city called Sikri.
4. Taj Mahal an immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife,Mumtaz Mahal.
