    Under Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015 the auction of mining licences of non-coal minerals is conducted by the respective state governments.

    India has gold deposits and mining spread across several states including Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.

    In Rajasthan the Iron-Ore deposits are located in the districts of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Bhilwara, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa and Banswara.
