Andaman and Nicobar Islands has diverse type of forests, the South Andaman forests epiphytic vegetation, mostly ferns and orchids. The Middle Andamans harbours mostly moist deciduous forests. North Andamans is characterized by the wet evergreen type, with plenty of woody climbers.

The Andamans and Nicobars have nearly 1136 Sq. Km. and 35 Sq. Km. respectively of mangrove forests.
