Vegetative propagation is a form of asexual reproduction of a plant. Only one plant is involved and the offspring is the result of one parent. The new plant is genetically identical to the parent.
Plants raised through vegetative propagation are the exact genetic copies of the parents, showing the same characters like of their parents. Such a genetically uniform population raised from a single plant by vegetative methods is known as clone.
If the parent plant has a virus, then it will not be eliminated but further propagated.the parent plant has a virus, then it will not be eliminated but further propagated.
