    Rast Goftar was an Anglo-Gujarati paper operating in Bombay that was started in 1851 by Dadabhai Naoroji and Kharshedji Cama and championed social reform among Parsis in Western India. 
    The Al-Hilal was a weekly Urdu language newspaper established by the Indian leader Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and used as a medium for criticism of the British Raj in India. The first issue came out on 13 July 1912.
    Mirat-ul-Akhbar was a Persian language journal founded and edited by Raja Rammohan Roy. The newspaper was first published on 12 April 1822. It was published on weekly basis on Fridays. The newspaper folded on 4 April 1823.
    Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya founded a highly influential, English-newspaper, The Leader published from Allahabad in 1909. He was also the Chairman of Hindustan Times from 1924 to 1946.
