Growth in urbanisation will have positive impact on rural and urban demand. Hence agricultural items will now be in more demand. It will rather contribute to agricultural GDP but its share in overall GDP will decrease. In 1991 the economic reforms were initiated by Narsimha Rao government which led to growth of private sector and more industries. All this led to growth of urbansation. As more and more people are flooding the cities from rural areas, the cities are not able to cope with this. Hence all this led to increase in slums and illegal buildings.
