Tropical deciduous are the monsoon forests found in the large part of India, northern Australia and in Central America. These regions experience seasonal changes. Trees shed their leaves in the dry season to conserve water.In a large part of our country we have this type of forest. These forests are also called Monsoon Forests. They are less dense. They shed their leaves at a particular time of the year – in spring and at onset of summer. Important trees of these forests are sal, teak, peepal, neem and shisham. (The names that we hear often) They are found in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, and in parts of Maharashtra.Tropical Deciduous Forests are economically most important forests of India.
