1,2&3 only
Laterite Soils are formed under conditions of high temperature and heavy rainfall with alternate wet and dry periods (especially monsoonal regions).Laterite soils are found in regions of very high rainfall. Due to rains the minerals get leached to lower horizons. These soils are found in hot and humid areas.Heavy rainfall promotes leaching (nutrients gets washed away by water) of soil whereby lime and silica are leached away and a soil rich in oxides of iron and aluminium compounds is left behind. They lack fertility due to intensive leaching. Hence, statement (3) is incorrect.
