    Kailashnath Temple :

    • It was Built by Narasimhavarman II shortly after the construction of Shore Temple in the 8th century A.D. 
    • Kailashnath Temple is more extensive in dimensions as compared to the Shore Temple at Mahabalipuram..
    • It is situated in a rectangular courtyard surrounded by a peristyle compos, noncontinuous series of cells resembling rathas.
    • It is the biggest sandstone temple in the world.
    • The foundation of this temple is made of granite.

    Hoysaleshwara Temple in Halebid:

    • This twin-shrined temple is perhaps the largest Shiva temple built by the Hoysalas.
    • The sculptures depict various aspects of Shiva, as well as scenes from the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and the Bhagavata Purana.
    • Halebid has a walled complex containing three Jaina basadi (temples) of the Hoysala period as well as a stepped well.

    Shore Temple:

    • Architectural creations that were initiated by King Narasimhavarman II.
    • Called Seven Pagodas by Marco Polo and European Travellers.
    • Difference from Dharmaraja Ratha: It is a structural temple and not a rock-cut one. 
    • Built with blocks of granite.
    • The temple is a combination of three shrines. 
      • The main shrine is dedicated to Shiva, as is the smaller second shrine.
      • A small third shrine is dedicated to a reclining Vishnu.
    • Lion Monolith: 
      • Partly carved and partly sculpted lion.

    Dashavatara Temple:

    • The Dashavatara Temple is an early 6th century Vishnu Hindu temple located at Deogarh, Uttar Pradesh which is 125 kilometers from Jhansi, in the Betwa River valley in northern-central India. It has a simple, one cell square plan and is one of the earliest Hindu stone temples still surviving today.
    •  Built in the Gupta Period, the Dashavatara Temple at Deogarh shows the ornate Gupta style architecture
    • Its Patrons are unknown.
    • From the architecture and imagery, it is known that the temple was built in early 6th century CE.
    • Panchayatana Style of architecture.
      • Main shrine is built on a rectangular plinth with four subsidiary shrines that are smaller and at the 4 corners.
      • Hence, there are a total of five shrines and hence the name, Panchayatana.
    • This temple has a rekha-prasada type of shikhara.
    • It is a west-facing temple. Most temples are north or east facing.
    • Has a grand doorway with figures of Ganga and Yamuna on the left and right side respectively.
    • Depicts Vishnu in various forms. 3 main Vishnu reliefs on the temple walls: Sheshashayana on the south; Nara-Narayan on the east; and Gajendramoksha on the west.
    • Since it was assumed that the subsidiary shrines had avatars of Vishnu in them, the temple was mistaken to be Dashavatara temple.
