Marine Biospere Reserve is a type of Biosphere Reserve under MAB program of UNESCO. Field Gene Banks conservation involves the collecting of materials from farmers' fields and gardens, or even from wild locations, and transfering them to a second site where they can be planted or monitored, hence it is an ex situ strategy. Community Reserves is a type of protected area introduced in Wildlife Protection Amendment Act 2002 to provide legal support to community or privately owned reserves which cannot be designated as National Park or Wildlife Sanctuary. Sacred Groves are tract of forests set aside where all the trees and wildlife within are venerated and given total protection. Such Sacred Groves in India are found in Khasi and Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya, Aravali hills of Rajasthan and at various other places.
