Who appoints the State Information Commissioner?

Chief Minister of the state

The governor of the state

Chief Justice of the High Court

A committee comprises of the Chief Minister, leader of the opposition in the assembly and a cabinet minister appointed by the chief Minister.

State Information Commission:

It is constituted by the State Government.
It has one State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC) and not more than 10 State Information Commissioners (SIC) to be appointed by the Governor on the recommendation of the Appointments Committee headed by the Chief Minister.
