As per Representation of the People Act (RoPA), a candidate can contest maximum from how many seats?
Only one seat
Two seats
Three seats
There is no such bar if the party allows
Section 33(7) of Representation of the People Act (RoPA) allows a candidate to fight from two seats at the same time. ECI is recommending its amendment to ensure that a candidate contests elections from single seat only because if the dictum of ‘One person, one vote’ is the norm in democracy then ‘one candidate, one constituency’ should also be followed.
