Recently, the World Happiness Report 2022 was published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN).

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the World Happiness Report. The United Nations started to celebrate the International Day of Happiness in 2013 but a resolution for the same was passed in July, 2012.
This resolution was first initiated by Bhutan. It emphasised on the importance of national happiness over national income since the early 1970s.
It thereby adopted the Gross National Happiness (GNH) over Gross National Product (GNP).

The biggest gains in happiness have taken place in Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania.
