Water vapour is a variable gas in the atmosphere ,which decreases with altitude. This is also the reason why the greenhouse warming caused by water vapour. So, 1 is incorrect.In the warm and wet tropics,it may account for four percent of the air by volume,while in the dry and cold areas of desert and polar regions,it may beless than 1% of the air. Water vapour content thus also decreases from the equator towards the poles. So, 2 is correct.
